Time is flying! I've officially been a missionary for 7 months and each week just goes by in a blink of an eye!!
Monday night was a blast and a half with our friend Annabelle! We had FHE at one of the member's homes with their kids and some of Annabelle's friends. We taught plan of salvation Candy Land, made ice-cream sundaes, and watched Soul. It was awesome and Annabelle has some awesome new friends so it was a win win! We had to bump her baptismal date to June 5 bc of some family stuff that came up, but she is set and ready to follow Jesus!!
On Wednesday night we got a call from our district leader asking me to give a training on diligence the following morning in district council. I was lowkey stressed, but when our 8pm lesson cancelled, I planned a bomb training haha. We all had a plank competition and talked about being diligent and consistent during the 18-24 months we have as missionaries and the strength that comes from our diligence. Then I mathed out our weekly hours to show that only 19% of the week is spent proselytizing and how we need to use our time effectively!! Learned some new Spanish vocab along the way and it was definitely a memorable training haha.
Hermana Holt became the primary pianist 2 weeks ago and this week I became the primary music leader(hence the caption). The ward is really putting out talents to work and it is FUN! We played hot/cold singing the song "cuando venga Jesus" and the kids had a blast. It also helps me practice my accent so I'm all about it!
Paulo was taught his last lessons this week and had his baptismal interview as well. It went so well and his testimony is FIRE!! He gets baptized tomorrow at 7(lmk if you want the zoom link to meet this awesome kid!) and it is his 18th birthday, so we are so so excited!!
I shared this in my diligence training, but I love the scripture in Mosiah 4:27 that says, "and see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order."
As a runner this totally stands out to me and I can hear Coach Barkley's voice in my head saying "chilllllll!" The Lord knows each one of us. He knows our limits. He knows our hearts and desires. And he wants us to work diligently in all things to do the best we can, but He will always help us along the way. No matter what we are going through in our lives, Jesus Christ is there to help lead and guide us if we put in our best effort and work towards Him!! I have seen so many blessings from hard work and diligence in my own life and I know that the Lord will bless each of his children with success as they do the same!
